US and Argentina sign agreement to enhance cooperation on critical minerals

The United States and Argentina have formalized a new agreement aimed at bolstering their collaboration on critical minerals, the US State Department announced on Thursday. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed in Buenos Aires, outlines a framework for deeper cooperation in the governance, investment, and security of global supply chains for critical mineral resources.

This agreement reflects the US’s strategic effort to diversify its supply chains for essential metals and reduce reliance on China. As Chinese companies expand their influence in Latin America, the US seeks to strengthen partnerships in the region to secure a stable supply of these critical materials.
