European Energy Metals expands exploration in Finland with new lithium licenses

European Energy Metals is expanding its exploration efforts in Finland by applying for five new exploration licenses, which will increase its land holdings to 157.7 sq. km. These new licenses cover a region in central Finland known for its potential to host lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites, close to Sibanye-Stillwater’s Keliber project. This project is constructing a major lithium supply chain complex and is expected to begin production in late 2025.

The company’s new concessions are near significant lithium-rich deposits and Sibanye’s planned spodumene concentrator plant. European Energy Metals is conducting fieldwork to identify drilling targets, building on previous discoveries of lithium-bearing pegmatites at their existing licenses. The 2024 exploration program aims to further define these areas and advance them to a drill-ready stage.
